Events Celebrating Veterans

Veterans Day is celebrated on November 11th to honor all American veterans. How can you celebrate our veterans? By attending a parade or event or supporting veterans through local events and organizations. Below are events happening in and around Lincoln to celebrate veterans.

Make Cards for Veterans at Hy-Vee-Kids are invited to create cards thanking local veterans for their service. All supplies are provided - just bring your smile and creativity! November 8.

Veterans Appreciation Day at Platte River State Park. We’d like to honor and show our respect for those who have served in a war, sacrificing of themselves for the common good of our country. The first 50 visitors with any military ID will receive a token for one free shooting activity. This is a family-friendly event and all are welcome. November 8.

Lincoln Aerospace Heritage Days-The Lincoln Air Force Base Legacy Project along with Duncan Aviation, Lincoln Airport, and Civil Air Patrol will be holding a free Lincoln aviation heritage event on November 8th and 9th, 2025. The "Museum-for-a-day" will exhibit displays, artifacts, and imagery related to Lincoln's aviation past. Families are welcomed along with veterans of Lincoln Air Force Base interested in sharing their story. November 8 and 9.

Veterans Gratitude Celebration-Join us for a powerful evening of music, art, and gratitude as St. Mark’s United Methodist Church hosts a Veterans Gratitude Celebration. November 9.

Veterans Day Breakfast-In honor of Veterans Day, we are hosting our annual free breakfast on Tuesday, Nov. 11, from 6 to 10 a.m. for all veterans and active-duty military personnel. November 11.
